Living and raising a family of three in New Braunfels TX has been the best decision I made in May of 1993. Having met my husband in Guymon, Oklahoma after he had spent 4 years in the Navy and 2 years in the Coast Guard and completed his Bachelor’s degree at Panhandle State University. We married in 1976 and began raising our family in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. We later moved to Lawton, Oklahoma where I began working on my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems. Upon graduation I began working in the IT department at the local hospital. My parents retired and moved to New Braunfels in 1990. They began working on us to move to the area – in which we did in 1993. New Braunfels TX proved to be the best place to raise a family. A combination of great schools, captivating scenery, abundant water recreation, and proximity to Austin and San Antonio were the primary reasons we decided to call New Braunfels TX home.
Once the kids moved out to begin a new chapter in their lives – I as well began a new chapter in my life and became a Realtor® and now I have the opportunity to share my enthusiasm and love for New Braunfels TX and the surrounding communities with the growing number of people considering residence in this area. New Braunfels TX has all the amenities of a big city within 30-45 minutes, New Braunfels is the perfect place to get away from it all while still being close enough to shopping, dining, live music, museums, universities, cultural activities, and over 500 acres of outdoor recreation. But you don’t have to leave New Braunfels TX to frequent unique boutiques, cool off at the world renowned Schlitterbahn water park, kick up your heels at the old Gruene dance hall, float down the Guadalupe and Comal river, or just have coffee with friends after visiting the Farmer’s Market downtown.
There are so many reasons to call New Braunfels TX home. A growing number of companies are drawn here because of the ease of access to Interstate Highway 35 and Interstate Highway 10. Current growth includes, but is not limited to, the addition of state of the art medical facilities, the expansion of the regional airport, and the establishment of an accredited four-year university.
There are so many great things about New Braunfels TX! For me, it’s the beauty of the hill country, the sense of community, warm and hospitable people, and the comfort knowing that this area will always have something to offer my family when they come home to visit.
